How I get inspired for songwriting and producing music

If we specifically dive into how i gain in order to create and structure my songs ; sometimes its drawn from my own experiences, but surprisingly its can come from the most random thoughts, conversations i may have had with my friend or even people in the street. If i have an idea of what i want to sound like but can't physically picture it, pinterest becomes my bestfriend.

I can flip a switch creatively, if i decide i want to make a sad song, whether thats a longing for someone for example a song i wrote called mirrored moments or ones self pain which has had the biggest impact to not only myself but for other anf that song is 'A black girls story'. Creating this song came out of nowhere but id always known i don't just want to always or be known for sad love stories, but music that matters, that is simplistic but creates some conflicting and complicated emotions.

It was a raw and intermate song to write, because i wasn't just saying it from my experiences but on behalf of the black commnity specifically the women. Society is always going to be something that we fight against but having empowering music to fall back on, when the confidence is down is what i'll always aim for. If i change one persons perspective or create a song that reflects and resignates with them, thats the whole reason ill continue to do.

I wouldnt have this perspective if it wasn't for one specifc arist ; Ms Lauryn Hill. If there was one woman who changed songwriting, storytelling and the true meaning of challenging society about relgion, the perspective on black people.

I gotat to find peace of mind is one of her most well-known songs for good reason. Its honest, heartbreaking, beautiful all in one go. Nowdays songs in general have becoming less meaningful and all these aspects that Ms Lauryn Hill puts into her music

A quote from Ms Lauryn Hill :“f everyone is a product of this society, who will say the things that need to be said and do the things that need to be done, without compromise?”I– Ms Lauryn Hill

One of the most impactful things she's said. Shes a poet lyrically and emotionally as every word that is spoken in this specific sentence will always apply no matter what stage or age we are in life. So with that i hope hints of her inspiration shines through my music, i will continue to challenge myself lyriclly and push myself emotionally.
